When Richmond-based R&B artist Alex Jemore was preparing to release his latest project, he needed more than an album cover—he needed a visual story that reflected the emotion, depth, and raw honesty in his music.
Prolific Pixel partnered with Jemore to design an album cover that captures the essence of heartbreak and healing—an explosion of vulnerability wrapped in style. The final result is bold, emotive, and cinematic—a design that speaks before the music even starts.
The Concept
The title and tone of the project centered on the pain of loving hard and falling harder. We leaned into a visual metaphor: a shattered red heart constructed of broken glass—symbolizing both beauty and pain.
We contrasted this with high-gloss textures and luxe typography, giving the artwork that R&B edge: sensual, strong, and soul-filled.
Design Details
- Custom red glass heart with fractal explosions—symbolizing emotion cracking under pressure
- Bold use of JEMORE in oversized vertical type for name recognition
- Gold signature-style script for the album title to introduce contrast, flow, and elegance
- Background gradients that echo passion and warmth, fading like a memory
- Designed for both vinyl jacket and digital release visuals
The Result
The cover has been praised for its ability to visually echo the sound—modern R&B that blends pain and poetry. Jemore’s fans responded to the artwork as much as the music, and the cover now serves as a core visual identity for his performances, merch, and social rollout.
